Every year for thanksgiving dinner I make White rice with Meat, mix nuts and lots of butter but this year as everyone in my house hold on watch / diet I created this healthy and delicious Brown Rice with Nuts, olive oil, lots of mixed spices and low sodium chicken broth.

This is the first time I make Brown Rice and I think I will be making it a lot from now on, very testy and healthy.Brown Rice

4 Cups of Brown Basmati rice
9 Cups of Homemade Chicken stock
1 TBS olive oil
1 TBS butter

In a large non-stick pot add olive oil, butter, rice and toast for two minutes, add Chicken stock and bring to boil, reduce to simmer until the rice fully cooked. It will take about 45 minutes.
