We all love s’mores but can you imagine it spread all over a sheet of a chocolate cake?
I could and I did…. I made up this delicious mash and ended up being this oeey gooey chocolaty goodness and it was to die for; and we could not get enough of it!!
A week ago our younger son Bilal was over our house for the weekend for a belated mother’s day visit, he had to work on mother’s day and could not make it for our yearly celebration…
This year mother’s Day was not the same as every year, both of my boys had to work on mother’s day and we could not celebrate the day together as we are accustomed to, but they are such good boys that they made up for it by visiting us on different days…
But my daughter, her boyfriend, the hubby and our granddaughter celebrated the day with me so I was a very happy mama….
I had to make this cake for my little baby, well he is not a baby anymore but he will always be my baby 💙💙💙…. He loves chocolate cakes and he loves s’mores so I combined both treats in one delicious and amazingly chocolatey dessert for us to celebrate the weekend with..
1 1/2 cups chocolate chips ( I chose bittersweet )
1 sleeve of graham crackers (about 8)
1 1/2 mini Halal / Kosher marshmallow
Toss the chocolate chips to coat with the dry ingredients.
Pour the batter into a well greased 9×13 baking pan lined with greased parchment paper, bake according to the recipe instructions or until toothpick comes out clean.
Sprinkle the reminder 1 cup of chocolate chips all over the top of the cake as soon as you get it out of the oven and as evenly as you can to make sure every inch of the cake is covered with chocolate.
Leave the chocolate chips to soften for few seconds, spread the chocolate all over the top of the cake with an offset spatula…..The top of cake will crumble a little as you spreading the chocolate but it’s ok it will be covered with the graham crackers and the marshmallows…SHUSH no one will ever know 😉
Cover the entire cake with the graham crackers crumbs and as evenly as you.
Cover the graham crackers with the marshmallows.
Shut the oven off and turn on the broiler on high, toast the marshmallows for two to three seconds or until the top is golden leaving the oven door open to keep an eye on it, this way you avoid burning the marshmallows… We like our marshmallows a little chard, it gives it the smoky outdoor camp fire flavor.
Let the cake cool for a minute or two… Dive in while the cake still warm and the marshmallows still gooey and soft!
